Adam Copeland Wins TNT TItle, Immediately Loses It Back To Christian Cage At AEW Worlds End

Adam Copeland won his first championship in pro wrestling in 12 years at AEW Worlds End by defeating Christian Cage for the TNT Title in a No DQ Match only to immediately lose it back to Christian, thanks to a loophole provided by Killswitch.

Adam Copeland pulled out all the stops in his No DQ Match against Christian Cage on December 30 at AEW Worlds End. Copeland used the familiar items of tables, ladders, and chairs, as well as Kendo sticks, pipes, and literal fire in order to not only punish Christian but neutralize the interference of Nick Wayne as well.

Copeland ended up attempting to Powerbomb Wayne through a flaming table and with Wayne out of the way, Adam defeated Christian with his own signature move, the Killswitch to win the AEW TNT Title.

However, Adam Copeland would go on to become the shortest-reigning TNT Champion in AEW history. Killswitch, formerly Luchasaurus, arrived on the scene with his Money in the Bank-style contract for a TNT Title opportunity that he had won earlier in the night. Killswitch Chokeslammed Copeland onto a steel chair and was ready to cash in his contract when Christian Cage demanded that his henchman give him the contract instead.

A reluctant Killswitch would eventually acquiesce and Cage would then defeat Copeland for the championship by using Copeland's own maneuver, the Spear.

After all that, the TNT Title quickly returned to its status quo from earlier in the evening, but the rivalry between the two former best friends from Toronto rages on.
