AEW Dynamite (5/25) Preview: Viva Las Vegas! CM Punk, Wardlow, And More Gear Up For Double Or Nothing

It's Wednesday and you know what that means, it's time for the final episode of AEW Dynamite before the 2022 Double or Nothing event.

In just four days, AEW will present its 4th annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view. While the landscape of AEW has changed a lot since its inception, there is still plenty to celebrate as Dynamite brings AEW back to Las Vegas to celebrate three years of All Elite Wrestling.

With tensions at an all-time high between CM Punk and Adam Page, a loaded card featuring a Steel Cage Match with one of the most popular wrestlers in AEW today, and semi-final matches in the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament, here is everything that you need to know before tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Triple Threat Match With Tag Team Title Implications

Ahead of their Triple Threat Tag Team Championship match this Sunday, Jungle Boy, Ricky Starks, and Swerve Strickland will compete in a three-way match on their own. In addition to building momentum for their respective tag teams, who will come out on top and potentially move further in the rankings for singles competition? Will Luchasaurus, Keith Lee, and Powerhouse Hobbs be far behind? These are all questions that will be answered tonight as 3 of the hottest young talents in AEW go at it.

The Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship Enters The Spotlight In Las Vegas

Roppongi Vice never got to hold the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship. However, that can all change tonight as they challenge FTR for the gold, continuing Ring of Honor’s new era under the regime of Tony Khan. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler look to continue to prove that they are at the top of their game and that even though they fought each other one on one a few weeks ago, their bond is unbreakable.

Thunder Rosa Speaks

Thunder Rosa is ready to pour her heart out on Sunday to defend her AEW Women's World Championship against Serena Deeb but before the pay-per-view, she will speak to Tony Schiavone on tonight's episode of Dynamite.

The Owen Hart Tournament Final Take Shape

The Owen Hart Tournament finals will take place on Sunday night but before then, two semifinal matches will take place on tonight's episode of Dynamite.

First, Samoa Joe and Kyle O'Reilly will go one-on-one to determine who will face Adam Cole in the finals for the men's tournament at the pay-per-view. Samoa Joe is preoccupied mentally with Aatnam Singh, Jay Lethal, and Sanjay Dutt, but Kyle O'Reilly, having just rekindled his connection with Adam Cole, may have mixed feelings about potentially fighting him at the pay-per-view.

In the women's semi-final match, Britt Baker and Toni Storm will finally go one-on-one after a budding war of words for weeks. Who will finally have a victory in the ring over the other in a one-on-one match in AEW and who will punch their ticket to the pay-per-view, earning the opportunity to potentially become the first-ever women's Owen Hart Cup Tournament winner?

We will find out tonight.

Despite All His Rage, Wardlow May Be Trapped In A Cage

In order to officially earn the right to face Maxwell Jacob Friedman at Double or Nothing, Wardlow has to defeat Shawn Spears inside of a steel cage, and not only that, he has to get by the fact that Maxwell Jacob Friedman will be the referee.

MJF may have completely outsmarted his former bodyguard or perhaps he’s put himself into a position where he is going to be trapped in a cage with a very angry Wardog!

CM Punk And Adam Page Go Face-To-Face

With 96 hours to go before their World Championship encounter, CM Punk and hangman page will go face-to-face tonight. For some reason, both men who are typically fan favorites are very angry, intense, and volatile towards one another despite never having interacted before this match was announced. Who will get the last laugh? We find out tonight.

In addition to all of that, Jade Cargill, The Blackpool Combat Club, the Jericho Appreciation Society, and more will all be in attendance trying to get the last bit of momentum before Sunday's pay-per-view.
