AEW Dynamite Outdraws NXT For 1/29 Episode

AEW's trip to Cleveland wasn't quite enough to get Dynamite's viewership to rise, but it was still enough to outdraw NXT.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the January 29 episode of Dynamite, which took place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, drew 828,000 viewers, down from the 871,000 viewers the January 22 episode drew. NXT, on the other hand, averaged 712,000 viewers, which is down from last week's 769,000 viewers.

In the 18-49 demographic, AEW Dynamite drew a 0.34 rating, just slightly down from last week's 0.35 rating. AEW this week finished third among original cable telecasts in the ratings for the day while NXT's 0.22 rating placed 37th for the day.

Dynamite saw Jon Moxley continue his feud with The Inner Circle. The main event saw AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz defeat Darby Allin & Private Party in a six-man tag team match.

NXT wrapped up the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with the team of Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne defeat Grizzled Young Veterans to win the tournament. Other NXT stars such as Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Shotzi Blackheart picked up victories in their respective singles matches.
