AEW Viewership Drops Heavily, NXT Viewership Rises On 1/6

AEW Dynamite saw its viewership fall on January 6th but NXT saw an increase in viewership for New Year's Evil.

According to PWTorch, Dynamite this week only accumulated 662,000 viewers, down from last week's 977,000. This number was 21,000 more than NXT’s accumulated 641,000. For NXT, this number is up from last week’s 586,000.

In the 18-49 demographic, AEW drew a .25 down from the .40 last week. NXT saw an increase from a .12 to .16.

Both shows presented pay-per-view quality events. NXT prevented New Year's Evil which saw Finn Balor defeat Kyle O'Reilly In the main event. AEW’s closing segment saw the reuniting of Bullet Club including Matt and Nick Jackson.

Outside of wrestling, unexpected political events were dominating the news cycle, which would have dominated the cable news channels.
