AEW World Tag Team Titles Change Hands On 1/5/22 AEW Dynamite

The Jurassic Age has commenced in AEW.

On January 5, 2022, AEW Dynamite officially made the move from TNT to TBS with a big night of action that included three title fights. One of them saw the Lucha Bros put their AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against Jurassic Express.

Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus earned the shot by being the number one ranked team in the division. Christian Cage, who has been aligned with them for a number of months now, has been advocating for them and insisting that they will become Tag Team Champions if it’s the last thing he does.

During the bout, both teams scored numerous near-falls, but the finish came after Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix were downed on the outside following a chokeslam through a table. Penta tried for his Penta Driver, but it was countered by Jungle Boy into a roll-up for the pin and win.

Jurassic Express celebrated their title win with Christian Cage in the ring while all the other teams appeared on the ramp, reminding the new champions that their work has just begun.

Penta and Fenix won the belts from The Young Bucks at All Out 2021. Their title reign ends after 122 days.
