Throughout the years, WWE has been dropped from Sky Sports in Austria and Germany as well as the United Kingdom where they are now featured on BT Sport.

The change is said to be due to declining viewership and costs increasing and ratings declining. As for AEW, they will begin airing on Friday nights starting on July 31. It is said that before making the deal with AEW, Sky had an interest in still keeping WWE who now made a deal with Discovery.

"We are thrilled to embark on a new chapter for WWE in Italy as we bring our unique blend of action-packed, family-friendly sports entertainment to Discovery’s free-to-air and premium channels," said Stefan Kastenmüller, WWE senior VP & group general manager (via The Hollywood Reporter). "We are excited that our relationship with Discovery is enhancing the fan experience in Italy with both primetime and family-friendly time slots."

WWE began their relationship with Sky Sports as a whole in the late 1980s and maintained a great partnership for many decades.
