Airica Demia Says She Wasn’t Ready For NWA Opportunity In 2023, ‘I Was Terrified’
Airica Demia reflects on her NWA debut.
Demia made her debut for the promotion back in 2023, facing off against Taylor Rising and Allie Recks in a triple threat match.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Demia reflected on the match and said that she wasn’t ready for the opportunity at the time.
“I will tell you right now, I was not ready for that. It was kind of the first bit of, I guess you could say extra work I’d ever done, if I remember correctly. I was terrified. Terrified of everybody there. Like every time I went to walk up to somebody, I was like, ‘Hi, nice to you.’ Now I would do a lot better.”
Demia went on to say that the experience would’ve been amazing if she believed in herself at the time.
“That one was really cool. I felt a lot more grown into my character and grown into myself as a wrestler than I did at NWA. Like, NWA would have been amazing if I would have just believed in myself, which is what people have been trying to tell me to do for years. I’m working on it still, but I’m a lot better than I used to be.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Airica Demia spoke about her recent WWE ID Women’s Championship match. Check out her full comments by clicking here.
