AJ Francis And Ben Bishop Mock Cagematch Ratings, Internet Fans

AJ Francis and Ben Bishop clown on some of the smaller professional wrestlers.

Once upon a time, professional wrestling was dominated by giants and larger-than-life personas. A couple of years before Rey Mysterio ever became WWE World Heavyweight Champion, such an idea would have been thought of as an impossibility because he was branded a Cruiserweight. Over the years, that Cruiserweight style of wrestling became the dominant style, and men with the size of Ben Bishop and AJ Francis became throwbacks.

During Fightful’s Kate Elizabeth’s recent interview with AJ Francis at the August 2025 WrestleCon, Ben Bishop made a run-in. Both men had fun putting each other over and joking about how much more popular they would be with wrestling fans if they were shorter. They also totally praised the legitimacy of Cagematch ratings without a hint of sarcasm.

AJ Francis: “Yeah, I said it on Twitter already before, like if I was 5’9 and from Great Britain, they’d call me an innovator. The things that I do in the ladder match, I held a grown man and then a ladder behind him and then used him and the ladder as a weapon and then gave them the World’s Srongest Slam, I’m innovating. I’m doing things people aren’t doing, you know? I have match of the year currently in TNA. That’s a fact, you know? But If I was 5’8″, 5’7″, and if I said ‘innit’ a lot, well my Cagematch rating would be through the roof.”

Ben Bishop: “That matters a lot too. Cagematch matters. We all look at it all the time. All 17 of you who comment on that stupid site, we really care. We really care about what you think. Believe me, we really, really do. No, you know, I mean, if I didn’t make videos and I wasn’t super creative and I wasn’t entertaining, you know, maybe I would have a job. Maybe I’ll just be good at wrestling. Maybe if I work on my craft a little bit, maybe if I don’t wrestle like a swap log. You know who I’m talking to. You know exactly who it is, because you’re watching this. I know you are.’

AJ Francis: “Here’s the thing, Ben’s great. But if Ben was a foot shorter, brother, I’m telling you, he’d be a main eventer.”

Ben Bishop: “If I was that, I’d be over.”

During a recent interview with Fightful, Ben Bishop stated he believes a big man revolution is coming in 2026. Check out that interview here.

Notably, Tr1bal Ke1th, self-professed leader of the IWC and noted hater of Ben Bishop, has yet to respond to these comments.

WrestleCon has announced that it is likely on hiatus until the WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas. Fans can keep up with those behind the convention and what is coming up next in the world of WrestleCon on social media.
