AJ Lee Says Wrestling Opportunities Have Popped Up, Isn't Sure The 'Fire Is There, Physically'

AJ Lee (AJ Mendez) hasn't wrestled since 2015 when she teamed with Naomi & Paige to defeat Natalya & The Bella Twins (Brie Bella & Nikki Bella) on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania 31.

Lee had to step away in part due to permanent damage to her cervical spine.

Speaking to Freddie Prinze Jr on iHeart Radio's Wrestling With Freddie, Lee said she's had opportunities to return to the ring.

"Wrestling opportunities have popped up over the years and I've never been ready for that. I'm not sure if physically, the fire is there, but the art of it has always been there. When I was a fan, the women were my favorite part of the show and I would skip the guys matches to watch the ladies," she said.

In 2021, it was announced that Lee had signed on with Women of Wrestling to serve as an executive producer and commentator.

WOW episodes are set to premiere in the fall of 2022.

Lee previously noted that she could technically return to the ring, but she's enjoying watching the next generation. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
