AJ Lee: There Was A World Where I Was One And Done, Part Of The Appeal Of Doing More Was Working With The Women Who Are In WarGames
AJ Lee made her return to WWE in September, over a decade after her retirement.
Lee has wrestled just one match since her return, teaming with her husband CM Punk to defeat Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.
She will return to the ring at WWE Survivor Series in the women’s WarGames match, teaming with Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, & IYO SKY to take on Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Lash Legend, & Nia Jax.
Speaking to Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story, AJ commented on the upcoming bout.
“The group of women…there was this world where it was just a one done. ‘Come back, have fun and see how you feel.’ That’s been a big thing, too, because I never wanted to feel how I felt mentally. My last year was very hard for me. I have been a little trepidatious in what I’m committing to and what I can handle. Part of the appeal of ‘let’s keep doing this,’ was that group of women. I’m a fan of all of them. I’ll be so happy to be surrounded by them and get to work with them and hang out with them in that way. I give so much credit to the women. They make it very appealing,” she said.
Fightful will have coverage of WWE Survivor Series on Saturday, November 29.
Elsewhere during the interview, AJ and Stephanie reflected on their 2015 Twitter exchange. Fans can read their comments here.
