AJ Styles Describes His Current Role In WWE

AJ Styles officially called it a career on the February 23 episode of WWE Raw when he was given a tribute from WWE, he left his gloves in the ring, and he was announced as a 2026 inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.

On Talk N Shop days after his retirement ceremony, Styles revealed he would still be working with WWE.

Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro podcast, Styles explained his role with the company.

“I’m on the internet and I’m checking out talent because it’s kind of going to be part of my job with WWE now. I’m looking for talent and I’m looking to see what I can do, if I can do anything for them. If they can get better. Little things like that. If there is a possibility of them getting a WWE ID or something, then hopefully I can facilitate and get that to happen. As of right now, it’s a little slow, but there are phone calls that are going to have to be made to make sure my job is done and it’s not just with indie talent. It’ll be NXT talent and it may mean main roster talent as well. I’m gonna go to Seattle for Raw and talk to talent. Who knows. Sometimes, you need to talk to somebody to see how they’re feeling and maybe they want to go down to the PC and work on some stuff. I’m that guy. That’s what I’m there for. The morale, if I can help make sure it’s still there in a good way, I want to be that guy. There are a lot of things I’m going to be doing. As things come up, it’ll change, I’m sure the job will. As of right now, that’s kind of what I’m doing,” he said.

Styles lost to Gunther at WWE Royal Rumble in a match where he put his career on the line.
