AJ Styles Says He Was Wearing A Thong When His Pants Ripped At WWE TLC 2016

AJ Styles had a wardrobe malfunction of sorts at WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs 2016 when he faced Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley in AEW).

During the bout, the back of AJ’s tights ripped on a chair, exposing his ass.

Speaking to the Bella Twins on the Nikki & Brie Show, AJ explained what happened.

“A lot of people think that I had a malfunction in my gear. No, my gear did exactly what it’s supposed to do when it is hit with a sharp object. It’s supposed to tear. There is no malfunction. It may have looked like that I don’t have on underwear. I did, but I don’t like manny lines, so I was wearing my thong,” he said.

Styles was victorious in the match, retaining the WWE World Title.

AJ Styles was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026.
