AJ Styles Thinks Hiroshi Tanahashi Would Have Done ‘Great’ In WWE

Styles is asked how he thinks Hiroshi Tanahashi would have fared in WWE.
On October 17th and 18th, WWE will be heading to Japan, with its shows taking place at Ryōgoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo.
Ahead of the event, WWE talents made media appearances for Japan-based outlets, and one of those appearances saw AJ Styles chatting with Tokyo Sports. An excerpt from that chat, which was not included in the original interview article, was included in a new piece that Tokyo Sports released.
Styles was asked how he thinks NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi would have fared if he had gone to WWE, and Styles said the following:
“I think he would have done great. Like my own kids, there are a lot of anime fans here. Tanahashi, including his hairstyle, is like an anime character himself, so I think he would have been a hit. Plus, he understands this industry deeply, so he would have definitely succeeded.”
Styles had multiple battles with Tanahashi. Styles is scheduled to rekindle an old rivalry when he squares off against John Cena at WWE’s Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.
