AJ Styles Would Have Liked To Wrestle Kenny Omega, ‘It’s Never Going To Happen’

AJ Styles shared the ring with many of the greatest wrestlers of his generation, from Bryan Danielson to John Cena to Samoa Joe and everyone in between.

One name he did step in the ring with early in their respective careers was Kenny Omega back in 2006. Despite their Bullet Club ties, Omega and Styles never got a chance to settle things in a NJPW ring.

“I would have liked to have had a match with him anywhere, but it didn’t happen. I got too old and we went different places. It is what it is, it just wasn’t meant to be. It’s never going to happen. Just throwing that out there, it’s never going to happen. Never going to happen,” said Styles on his Phenomenally Retro podcast.

AJ Styles and Omega did team at NJPW New Year Dash 2016, which was when Omega turned on Styles and became the new leader of Bullet Club.

Omega is still active in AEW while Styles retired in January.
