Akira Tozawa heads back to EVOLVE.
WWN and EVOLVE announced that former Dragon Gate USA MVP Akira Tozawa will compete at EVOLVE's 10th Anniversary Show on July 13 in Philadelphia. No opponent has been announced.
Tozawa only wrestled one match under the EVOLVE banner but spent three years in Dragon Gate USA, which eventually unified with EVOLVE as both promotions were child promotions to WWN Live. Tozawa never held gold in Dragon Gate USA, but challenged for the Open The Freedom Gate Title on multiple occasions and wrestled the likes of PAC, Johnny Gargano, Johnny Impact, and Shingo Takagi while with the promotion.
Tozawa's only official match under the EVOLVE name came at EVOLVE 7 on Apr. 19, 2011. The 205 Live superstar was defeated by Chuck Taylor on that night.
The only match announced for EVOLVE's 10th Anniversary event is a Catch Point Reunion bout pitting Drew Gulak against Matt Riddle.
Fightful will have full results from EVOLVE 10th Anniversary following the conclusion of the event on July 13.
