Alec Price has already had a busy 2023, wrestling in a recorded ten matches according to Cagematch.
On January 6, Price competed against Channing Thomas in a 60-minute Iron Man match in Worcester, Massachusetts. He flew across the country to face Titus Alexander in San Francisco, California on January 7, and then traveled to Chicago, Illinois to wrestle for GCW on January 8.
Price's travel schedule comes from his old school mentality and him wanting to prove he's one of the top wrestlers in the world.
"The thing about me is, when I step into that ring, I don't like to prove stuff that I know I can't produce. I know that I can produce top quality wrestling and I know that I can still get better with my product, but I also know that I can have bangers. Why do I want to go in there if I can't have a banger? To me, there is no reason to be in the ring if I can't have a banger. I know what I can do. To lesser myself, that's not an Alec Price match. That's not Alec Price. I'm at 10 every day. I grew up old school. Getting into the business, my trainers broke me in old school. Beau Douglas and Benny Jux at the Bell Time, from (Killer) Kowalski training, I'm lineage, I got that bloodline. When I was brought up, first year and a half of my career, I went on the road with Big Time Wrestling up and down the east coast. Not really anybody knew me in my territory because I did this. The only time I would really get that chance was get in the ring before these shows. Get there early, help out with everything, knowing I'm not going to get a spot on the show. Knowing I'm not going to get paid. My trainer told me, 'this is either going to make you love wrestling or make you want to quit after this trip. This is wrestling.' At the end of the day, this is something you have to do. I heard all my people when they started blowing up, like Masha (Slamovich) and all them, 'Bro, I'm tired. I just went from Jersey to LA to Portland to Maine.' Damn, really? All of a sudden, I'm doing five times a weekend where I'm flying to Alabama, then flying to Indiana and driving to Chicago the same day to wrestle for GCW. It comes with the territory. If you really want to be one of the top people, you have to put in that grind and that hustle," he told Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen on the Spotlight.
Price has had standout matches over the past year against the likes of JD Drake, Nick Wayne, Ortiz, Titus Alexander, Homicide, and more. His matches have gained him more notoriety on the independent scene and, as he said, he always want to produce a banger match.
Asked if he feels pressure to deliver in the ring, Alexander said, "I like the pressure. I perform better under pressure. I don't get comfortable so it keeps me on my toes. When I get cocky, I lose my sight and my mind. This is all I've wanted from wrestling. I want to be signed. I'm glad that I'm getting the recognition, for a kid that wasn't supposed to make it. Out of anybody in the territory, I wasn't supposed to do any of this. I've changed the whole territory and the whole game. It still gets me. I have anxiety attacks before every match. I think it's just because I care. If you don't really care about something...I really give a fuck about this. If you look at Jordan Oliver, my boy, he does the same thing. He'll have a quick anxiety attack and go out there and wrestle. That's just because we care so much about our product and about what we're producing and how the fans see us and everything. There are so many variables that go into wrestling. You either gotta be able to keep calm and cool under pressure, or crack and get the hell out."
