Aleister Black talks about EVOLVE.
Ahead of this Saturday's EVOLVE 10th Anniversary event, WWE is talking to former EVOLVE stars about their time in their promotion. Aleister Black (wrestling under Tommy End) wrestled a handful of times in EVOLVE, working the likes of Matt Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Johnny Gargano, Zack Sabre Jr, and more.
Here's what he had to say about his time in EVOLVE.
"EVOLVE was one of the first companies in the United States that put a lot of eggs in my basket. They put a lot of faith and trust in me. They allowed me to work with some of the highest caliber athletes around the world and helped shape me in my path to become a WWE superstar. A lot of the stars in NXT walked the same route I did, [working in] EVOLVE before coming to NXT or WWE," said Black. "It's sink or swim. If you want to be the best, you have to compete against the best and not everyone can compete against the best. It was really testing my mettle. I would be put in there with guys like Kassius Ohno or Zack Sabre Jr and it was like, 'show us what you got.'"
EVOLVE 10th Anniversary will air live on WWE Network on Saturday. The next night at WWE Extreme Rules, Black will take on Cesaro in singles competition.
