Aleister Black Re-Emerges On WWE SmackDown, Hits Big E With Black Mass

Aleister Black is back.

On May 21, the main event of SmackDown saw Apollo Crews defend his Intercontinental Championship against Big E, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens. The title appeared to be going back to Big E after he hit The Big Ending on Crews, but his pin was broken up by Commander Azeez. After Big E sent the Royal Guard into the corner post, he slid back into the ring only to have the lights fade away. Aleister Black emerged, with a contact in his right eye, and hit Big E with a Black Mass. This allowed Apollo to cover the New Day member and retain his title.

Black was seen earlier in the show in a pre-taped vignette, reading Chapter 4 from his Tales of the Dark Father book. In recent weeks he has been talking about culling the herd and becoming the person his father taught him to be.

Black's last televised match was on October 12, 2020, when he lost to Kevin Owens in a No DQ bout.
