Alex Hammerstone has carved out his own legacy in MLW as the MLW World Heavyweight Champion, but comparisons to greats have followed him.
Throughout his career, Hammerstone has been compared to Triple H and Hulk Hogan due to his look and physique. Recently, Hammerstone has drawn comparisons to Brock Lesnar as the two sport a similar hairstyle and look.
Speaking on the Wrassingh Show, Hammerstone was asked about the comparisons to Triple H, Hogan, and Lesnar.
"It used to really bother me because it felt like no matter what I did, I was just doing one comparison to get stuck in the next one. That being said, I've never been compared to Crash Holly or somebody like that, I've always been compared to a top guy, a mega superstar. Those are some comparisons to be proud of. Maybe it's just the man-bun, but these days, I can't even go to the grocery store without someone telling me I look like Brock Lesnar. It makes me chuckle. If I'm able to, not only bring that look to the ring, but illicit some of those same emotions and that same presence, those are some good guys to be compared to. At this point, I'll take it as a compliment," he said.
When asked about possibly facing Lesnar, Hammerstone replied, "Talk about having confidence and not being intimidated, that might be a match where I have to recant those statements. Going into the ring with Brock Lesnar, I don't care what level you're at, that's got to be one of the most intimidating things you can do."
Finally, Hammerstone was asked if he's ever interacted with Lesnar.
Hammerstone replied, "I met Brock Lesnar one time, just in passing, doing the kind of work you do with WWE. Nothing more than a handshake and a hello. He had that intimidation factor about him, just in that brief passing moment."
Hammerstone has had multiple WWE tryouts throughout the years and has done extra work for the company.
Lesnar is set to be part of Monday's WWE Raw.
