Alex Shelley Returning To School For His Third Degree
Alex Shelley is returning to school, attending Franklin University to earn his third degree.
Shelley will be going for his degree in exercise science, which is a four-year degree. Shelley will also maintain his physiotherapy license and his National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
Shelley discussed his future plans in a new TikTok video.
Shelley credited John Cena’s influence for his decision to pursue his third degree, saying he saw an interview from Cena talking about WWE’s tuition reimbursement program.
Shelley called Cena the GOAT, saying, “I’m very grateful for his contributions to the company I currently work for.”
He noted that he’s been fortunate to be around great leaders during his time in wrestling, naming CM Punk on the indies, AJ Styles in TNA, and Hiroshi Tanahashi in NJPW.
Alex Shelley is signed by WWE, where he teams with Chris Sabin as the Motor City Machine Guns. He has not wrestled on television since November 2025.
