Alex Shelley: Triple H Was A Huge Factor In Our Decision To Sign With WWE, We Wanted To Be Players On His Team

Shelley and Sabin wanted to play ball with Triple H.

After years of fantasy booking, the Motor City Machine Guns finally arrived to WWE in 2024, signing with the company in September after finishing up their run with TNA.

Since then, the team has been very successful, picking up wins over The Bloodline, #DIY, Pretty Deadly, and A-Town Down Under.

While speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of Shak Wrestling for a new interview, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were asked to talk about who made the decision to sign them. Despite not having a direct answer to the question, Shelley noted that he and Sabin wanted to be players on Triple H's team.

“We have no idea whose idea it was to bring us in. What I can say though, we talked directly to Paul, Triple H, and he treated us with the utmost respect. A huge factor in our decision was that we wanted to be players on his team. We wanted to be a part of the WWE machine, specifically with him leading the charge. That to me was something that was always at the front of our minds.”

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are now available as playable characters in WWE 2K25 as a part of the New Wave DLC pack.
