“I watched wrestling religiously with my grandparents all the time. I loved watching Trish Stratus because she was so iconic and such a powerful woman. I loved watching Rey Mysterio because his lucha style reminded me so much of gymnastics. His style was so fascinating to me,” said Bliss.

Bliss joined WWE in 2013, she learned how to wrestle within the WWE developmental program. She explained how she ended up in WWE.

“I heard about a tryout, so I went to wwe.com and there was a link that said, ‘Do you want to be a WWE superstar?’ I said, ‘Yes, I do.’ So I clicked on it, I made a video and sent it in. I was called back, had a tryout and was signed to NXT. I was there for three years and now I’m (on SmackDown Live). I definitely don’t take it for granted. I’m so glad it happened, I’m so fortunate for the opportunities WWE has given me,” said Bliss.

Now, Bliss is a member of the Smackdown Live roster. Recently she has been feuding with champion Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women's Championship. She said she is excited to be apart of a women's division with a bright future.

Bliss also talked with the Ottawa Sun about her time in NXT and her experience with mixed-martial-arts. She faces Becky Lynch for the championship at WWE TLC.
