Allie Katch Opens Up About Recovery From Broken Leg Injury, Doctors Having Her Walk Around Not Long After Surgery

Details about Allie Katch’s injury and recovery.

It was back in January 2025 at Game Changer Wrestling’s ‘The People vs. GCW’ event at Hammerstein Ballroom that Allie Katch suffered a broken leg. She went for a suicide dive and planted awkwardly.

Katch opened up about the injury and her recovery while on Busted Open After Dark with Denise Salcedo. She said when it happened, she did not feel it. There were clean breaks in her tibia and fibula.

“I’ve obviously talked to everybody in person but, dude, it was honestly such a freak accident… I was so excited. It’s Hammerstein, it’s this huge opportunity, it’s this huge match. Thank God I had the entrance. At least I had the entrance, because that was all I had. But, yeah, it was wild. I literally looked down at my leg, and I go, it is not supposed to face that way. My foot is not supposed to look like that, and I just remember thinking that, and then twisting it, and really, I didn’t feel it. I didn’t feel a thing. I think so much adrenaline was going through my body, but I knew something was wrong. You know, I commend people who tweak their knee or tweak their ankle and they’re like, ‘No, I’m gonna finish the match.’ I knew — it was like, absolutely not. I know something’s wrong. Get me out of here. I’m a big baby. Get me out, and thank God I did that because, yeah, it was the tib and the fib, both broken clean off, in almost the same spot. That’s why it was twisted the wrong way, and that was it.”

She shared that doctors had her walking not too long after her surgery. She was moved to another room post-operation, and when she awoke from her sleep, doctors tasked her to begin walking with crutches. She was back at home several days after surgery.

“I haven’t even got my bearings yet and immediately, a swarm of doctors come in and they go, ‘Alright, so we’re gonna have you walk now.’ ‘I’m sorry, what? Excuse me?’ And they made me get out of bed and start teaching me how to walk right then. It’s literally Monday, like morning, afternoon… I spent Monday in the hospital, and then Tuesday morning, they woke me up again to teach me how to walk up and down stairs, and then they’re like, ‘Okay, you’re good to go’ and I left Tuesday afternoon to go back home.”

She stated that everything regarding her recovery panned out perfectly. The injury happened in an area where she resides. Katch rehabbed with former WCW talent Crowbar at his training facility, and she lives near that facility.

“And so I started rehab on Valentine’s Day, with Crowbar. It all just happened perfectly because thank God it happened at Hammerstein… I live like 20, 30 minutes away, with no traffic, and then Crowbar has a rehab facility in New Jersey, 30 minutes away from where I live. If it had to happen, thankfully, it all came together and happened like this.”

Allie Katch returned at a House of Glory event. She has multiple in-ring dates lined up.
