In the pantheon of iconic pro wrestling entrance music, Adam Copeland’s ‘Metalingus’ stands alongside some of the most iconic entrance music in wrestling history, courtesy of the band Alter Bridge.
While speaking to Drumeo in a recent interview, Alter Bridge’s drummer Scott Phillips commented on the popularity of Metalingus.
“So with Alter Bridge, we do a lot of the summer festivals in Europe, the Rockin’ Rings, Rockin’ Parks, Downloads. Even if our music isn’t as recognizable, you’ve got a crowd of 100,000 people, 50,000 of them might know you, 50,000 of them might not, but everybody seems to love wrestling. So as soon as we get to that song, it’s instant. A crowd that’s losing their mind, whether they’re familiar with the band or not. So anytime we play that song, it’s always an instant reaction.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Phillips remarked that the band owe Adam Copeland a debt of gratitude for choosing their song as his entrance music. You can read more about that here.
