Alycia Baumgardner Says ‘Conversations Are Being Had’ With WWE
Boxer Alycia Baumgardner has become one of the top female boxers in the world, holding the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO & The Ring female super featherweight titles.
Along with her in-ring ability, she’s stood out with her presence and charisma, talking people into the fights.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Baumgardner was asked if she has thought about being a WWE superstar.
“I could definitely be a WWE (superstar). I’m a Diva, for real. Funny story, me, my sister, and my friend growing up were big WWE fans. We literally thought we were Divas and we lit fireworks in the room to have our own walkout. Mom came in the room like, ‘What’s that smell?’ We had sparklers and shit,” she recalled.
Asked if she would consider being in WWE, she replied, “It’s in the works. Conversations are being had. I don’t turn no deal down if it makes sense. When we talk about building a brand, we talk about bigger and better. I’m not just a boxer. This is why they are mad. They have to box. I don’t have to box. I love to box and choose to box. We’re building something big. We’re building a brand that is made to last.”
She said both sides have reached out to each other, but she hasn’t stepped foot in the ring to train in pro wrestling.
In February, Baumgardner said she would face anyone if given a hypothetical opponent.
