Andrade El Idolo talks potentially winning the AEW World Title, noting that he will work for the title as long as necessary.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door this past weekend, Andrade would feature as part of a twelve man steel cage tag team match, where he would be on Team MJF. However, as the match drew to a close, Andrade would turn on MJF, laying him out. Now, Andrade has spoken further about his chase for the AEW World Title.
While speaking to Undisputed with Justin Barrasso, Andrade El Idolo discussed the AEW World Title, noting that he will work as long as necessary to capture the title before defending it against Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega.
“That thought has occurred to me on many occasions, I’m looking for that championship. God knows I want it. MJF, I’m looking for an opportunity. That would be incredible. I’d be a fighting champion and defend it against Will Ospreay. I’d defend it against Kenny Omega. Hopefully it is soon, but I will work for it as long as necessary.”
Andrade was then asked which will come first for him, winning the AEW World Title or the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in New Japan.
“Destiny always changes,” said Andrade. “I don’t have a specific answer. I will be the champion in New Japan, and the AEW title, that’s my goal. I keep training and preparing, when my opportunity arrives, I will be ready.”
