Andrade El Idolo Says When His AEW Contract Expired In 2023, He Thanked Tony Khan For The Opportunity

Andrade El Idolo made his return to AEW at Dynamite Sixth Anniversary, attacking Kenny Omega and aligning with Don Callis.

Andrade departed AEW at the end of 2023 when his contract expired. He returned to WWE in 2024 before getting released in September, paving the way for his AEW return.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer spoke at length about Andrade’s return and the potential pitfalls.

Andrade took to social media to respond, clarifying that he left AEW seemingly on good terms in 2023.

“@davemeltzerWON You talk too much shit without proof, and Sir, I’ll only tell you one thing: when my contract with AEW ended, I personally went man to man to thank MR. TONY KHAN for the opportunity to be in AEW, and that’s all I’ll tell you. If I wanted to talk more, I would show you that you’re wrong about many things. But you keep killing the business! Yo le deseo lo mejor!!”

At the AEW Worlds End 2023 media scrum, Tony Khan praised Andrade and said they were parting on good terms.
