Angelina Love On Competing At NWA 74: I Love Being Involved With Things That Are A Part Of History

Angelina Love says she's honored to be working with the NWA, and she's looking forward to NWA 74.

Love has been wrestling for over 20 years, and she is a former six-time TNA Knockouts Champion. Given her impressive list of accolades, she quickly became a prominent member of the NWA women's division upon her arrival in the company earlier this year.

During an interview with the Wrestling Epicenter, Love was asked to share her thoughts on being involved with the NWA and competing in the Burke Invitational at NWA 74.

“It’s very cool, I’m honored to be a part of it. August is my 22-year anniversary of being in this business, the 18th actually. So it’s really cool to be in a battle royal dedicated to a female vet, so it’s awesome," said Love.

She continued by noting that she likes being part of a company with so much history, and she also spoke highly of NWA president Billy Corgan. Love also made it clear that she has enjoyed seeing fans responding positively to the Beautiful People references in her interactions with Madison Rayne on NWA programming.

“I’m very excited. Like I said, I love being a part of things that are a part of history, so I think it’ll be really fun. NWA has such a great vibe in the locker room and just with the way that they do shows. I can’t say enough good things about Billy Corgan, I just love him. Loved him way before NWA [laughs]. Then they’re to starting to say Beautiful People and do Beautiful People stuff with me and Velvet, so that kinda makes us so happy inside because we’re like, ‘Oh my god, they love it.’ This is our fifteenth year as the Beautiful People, so to still be doing this and having all of the love and support, and people still wanting to see it, that will never not touch our hearts and mean everything to us. So I’m just so happy to be a part of this monumental pay-per-view and everything that it stands for. I’m just very blessed and very thankful," she said.

When asked whether she plans on sticking around after NWA 74, Love said, “Oh yeah, I mean, I did their tapings in March, I did their tapings in June. I’ll do these shows, so I would definitely be doing future shows with them."

NWA 74 is a two-night event scheduled for August 27 & 28 from The Chase in St. Louis. Both nights will air on FITE TV. The card for night one is available here, and the lineup for night two can be found here.
