Anna Hirai, Actor Who Played Role Of Mayu Iwatani In Biopic, Pursuing Pro Wrestling Career

Hirai was bitten by the wrestling bug.

In 2024, a biopic on Mayu Iwatani was released titled ‘Runaway Wrestler.’ Playing the role of Iwatani was actor Anna Hirai.

Hirai started training in the ring in 2023 in preparation for the role. Fast forward to present day, and Hirai has announced that she is pursuing a career in pro wrestling.

The movie was filmed while Iwatani was still a member of STARDOM. She departed the promotion after over a decade of working for them.

Iwatani is now signed to Dream Star Fighting Marigold and is the reigning Superfly Champion.
