Anthony Bowens Discusses Missing Time With A Knee Injury, Wanting AEW Tag Team Gold

Anthony Bowens is currently sidelined with a knee injury, but he remains on television, in a wheelchair, alongside Max Caster and The Gunn Club (Billy, Colten & Austin Gunn).

Bowens has only wrestled once, in limited capacity, since March.

Appearing on The LGBT Sport podcast, Bowens commented on his injury and what he wants in the future in AEW.

"I would like to just get back in the ring, first and foremost. It's been three months, three and a half months. I've been itching to get healed and do my physical therapy and get going. I miss being in the action. Sitting ringside is not fun. The entertainment aspect and opportunity to show my personality a bit more from the wheelchair has been absolutely fantastic and some of the most fun things I've done, but I love wrestling and love that thrill. That's first and foremost, I want to get back in there with Caster and the Gunn Club and keep entertaining people. Max and I, we want tag team gold. We're getting some of the best reactions, we're connecting with the people and they really want us to succeed. We really want to succeed. We feel we should be at the top of the best tag team division in the world and holding the tag team titles. We want that affirmation via tag team titles," he said.

Bowens continued by saying, "Beyond that, I just want to keep showing that I'm a good professional wrestler. I felt I was traveling under the radar for the first year at AEW because I didn't have an opportunity to show what I could do, at least from a singles perspective, and I got that opportunity working with Bryan Danielson and Jungle Boy and Darby (Allin) and (Jon) Moxley. I truly believe that if you keep tossing these names at me that I'm going to keep showing how well I mix with them and that I'm one of the better wrestlers in the world and will continue to prove that. I would love to have more opportunities like that as well."

It is unknown when Bowens will return to the ring. He remains on TV, correctly remembering where the show is being held, and asking to be scissored by Daddy Ass [Billy Gunn].

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
