Anthony Henry Says JD Drake Was Supposed To Be Signed Alongside Him By WWE
Anthony Henry reveals JD Drake was also supposed to be signed by WWE.
In January 2021, Anthony Henry was signed by WWE and performed under the name Asher Hale. Henry had been a standout name on the independent scene and found success alongside his tag team partner JD Drake as the WorkHorsemen.
Taking to social media, Henry revealed that Drake was also supposed to be signed.
Something not many know:
@RealJDDrake was supposed to be signed, alongside myself, for WWE. Obviously, that didn’t happen.I often wonder what would have happened had that happened.
I think we still would have ended up where we are, but the journey would have been different.

Henry’s time with WWE was short-lived as he was released by the company in August 2021.
Drake & Henry would reunite on the independent scene and ROH and AEW. Henry was released by AEW at the beginning of April, but Tony Khan announced shortly after that he would be re-signing Henry after many questioned his decision to release him while he was sidelined with an injury.
