Ariane Andrew Says WWE Wanted To Do More With Her After 2022 Royal Rumble Return, Recalls Travel Plans Being Canceled

Ariane Andrew was supposed to do more with WWE after her return in 2022.
In January 2022, Andrew made her return to WWE in the Women’s Royal Rumble match as Cameron. She entered the match at the #13 spot and lasted 51 seconds before being eliminated by Sonya Deville.
Speaking with CJ Perry on the latest episode of Identity Crisis, Andrew spoke about her return and revealed that her father passed away the following Monday.
“It was super fun, felt really good. I was nervous but great to be back. Then, my dad passed on Monday. We did the Rumble on Saturday, there was other things going on at that time. The person I was dating, that’s a whole nother’ — it was just like, people don’t know what you’re going through.“
Andrew went on to also reveal that she got a call to return to the company after her appearance in the Royal Rumble match. Those plans were seemingly canned a few days later, as her travel was canceled out of nowhere.
“Dad passed on Monday, got a call on Tuesday to come back. Everyone’s like, ‘Are you ready, like, are you okay? Are you in a good place?’ I was like, ‘No.’ My dad would love this, like the legacy lives on. I got a text message being like, call me back because we wanna —- Yes, [it was from Johnny Ace]. Wednesday, everything is good. Thursday, all of a sudden I see my travel has been canceled. I’m like, ‘What?’ So then I ask and it was just like, ‘Oh, we don’t have an answer.’ That was a really rough time and that’s when my mental health started to take — I was already dealing with my mental health, but that’s when I really went like, it’s trying my patience.”
Earlier this year, Andrew had a role in BET’s ‘Onyx’ streaming film. Learn more about the movie by clicking here.
