Tony Nese gets his first challenger.
On Tuesday's episode of 205 Live, Ariya Daivari battled Oney Lorcan in singles competition, with the winner earning a shot at Tony Nese and the WWE Cruiserweight Title. After a back-and-forth contest, Daivari picked up the victory and stood face-to-face with the champion, who was at ringside to scout his next opponent.
Daivari has been on a roll on 205 Live in 2019, picking up singles victories over Johnny Lyons and Cedric Alexander along with winning a fatal-four way that also featured Akira Tozawa, Gran Metalik, and Mike Kanellis. Nese won the Cruiserweight Title at WrestleMania 35 when he defeated Buddy Murphy.
