Armando Estrada: When I Was In WWE, I Was Told That I Was ‘Too Entertaining’

A story from Estrada’s time in WWE.
Armando Alejandro Estrada spent multiple years of his life in the pro wrestling business and is often associated with his time in WWE as the manager of the late Edward Fatu a.k.a. Umaga.
Estrada looked back on his WWE run during his appearance on Busted Open. He shared the story of when someone in the company told him he was ‘too entertaining.’
“You find this out later. You get told, ‘Hey, you’re too entertaining.’ It’s like, ‘What do you mean I’m too entertaining? This is an entertainment company. How am I too entertaining?’ And I think I shared this one of the last times we spoke was one of the executive producers said that, ‘Hey, the same things that got you to the dance can get you sent back down,’ and I never understood that until years later. As The Rock says, ‘Knowing your role’ and knowing what is expected of you. If you’re in the fifth match, you’re not supposed to have a barnburner or you’re not supposed to have the biggest pop of the night, if that makes sense. You have to save the pops for the guys working on top.”
Estrada is a part of WWE. In 2024, he signed a five-year Legends contract with the company.
