Arn Anderson: I Certainly Hope Cody Rhodes Finishes The Story At WWE WrestleMania

Arna Anderson gives his thoughts on the current Undisputed WWE Universal Championship picture heading into WWE WrestleMania 40.

Arn Anderson is very close with Cody Rhodes. Anderson was Rhodes' personal coach and manager during Rhodes' time as an AEW wrestler. Cody would eventually leave the company he founded and return to WWE to do one thing, finish his family's story by finally winning the WWE Championship.

Cody came up short at WrestleMania 39 in his bid against Roman Reigns but after winning the Royal Rumble again in 2024, Rhodes again stands at the doorstep of his lifelong dream. Speaking on the most recent episode of his ARN podcast, Anderson kept his words short in saying that he certainly hopes Cody finally accomplishes his dream at this year's WrestleMania in Philadelphia.

"I certainly hope so. That's all I can say beyond reproach, is I certainly hope so."

The problem standing in Cody's way this time around is this year's championship picture is chaotic and includes a returning Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and even WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Arn Anderson, who has worked with all four men at one point in time as an agent, says he'd like to see the situation be resolved in a Fatal 4-Way with both major championships on the line.

"Well, I'll bounce one off of you. If you want to make it interesting, Fatal 4-Way. Winner Take All. Consolidate the two titles," Arn pitched. "I go back to the Fatal 4-Way. Now you have that consolidation, the winner consolidates the championships and you only have one. Each time, if you have that going in, think about this and build in the match. Every time Roman gets covered by somebody. There's a mad scramble to make a save. Every time Seth gets covered by somebody, there's a mad scramble to make a save so they're having to save each other because they can lose their championship without losing the fall.

"I mean, that's one you could go 30 minutes," he added. " I mean, again, that's just a thought but it shouldn't be anything backhanded or off the wall when Cody. If he's going to fulfill his dream, he needs to do it with his finish, 1-2-3, and if I'm the other guy that gets beat, I want to get beat, not by a roll-up with a handful of tights. I want to get beat by your best stuff. What is your best move? That's what you're going to beat me with. Not something, crossbody, roll through, handful of tights. That don't work. I want to see it and know that's it. I want to hear, '1-2-3,' new champion."

Cody Rhodes will be getting a one-on-one opportunity against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. Seth Rollins, on the other hand, will be defending his respective World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes has, however, challenged The Rock to a one-on-one match at any time between now and his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Learn more about the challenge here.
