Asuka got a big surprise on WWE Raw when she found out the Raw Women's Title was inside the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Becky Lynch announced on WWE Raw that she would be stepping away from WWE as she is pregnant. As a result, she relinquished the Raw Women's Title to Asuka, who won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday.
Discussing the moment on WWE's The Bump, Asuka said about the moment, "I had so many matches with her and I have a strong connection with her. I think we both felt the same way, I think she likes to have matches with me. I think she was relieved that I got the Money in the Bank, because she knew I could take good care of it. I want to become the element that makes people feel the WWE women's division is something they want to miss. I know that I've been that element, but as a Champion, I want to work on it even harder."
Lynch has always been a supporter of Asuka both on-screen as a competitor and off-screen as a peer.
She did less to earn that title shot than the Wrestlemania one. Asuka deserves so much better.
