Athena: I Would Love The Opportunity To Wrestle For New Japan
Athena is the forever ROH Women’s Champion, set to embark on her third year with the champion.
Athena has traveled around the world to represent the brand as champion, including to Japan at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
Speaking at the ROH Final Battle press conference, Athena was asked if she would like to wrestle for New Japan.
“I would love the opportunity to wrestle for New Japan. I have the privilege of representing Ring of Honor in the Tokyo Dome in a four-way match for an opportunity at any championship, but then I got hit with a baseball bat to my face, but we’re not going to talk about that. It would be an honor. I’ve never gotten to wrestle on Wrestle Kingdom or for New Japan other than that show. There are so many amazing women in STARDOM and around the world with New Japan. I would love the opportunity,” said Athena.
She competed against Momo Watanabe, Persephone and Willow Nightingale in a four-way match at Wrestle Dynasty. Momo was victorious in the match.
