Austin Creed: “Taking A Full Ass Break For The First Time In 22 Years, It’s Been Great Getting To Relax”

Austin Creed comments on his time off from wrestling.

In early May 2026, among the WWE departures were Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed (Xavier Woods), collectively known as The New Day. Both Creed and Kingston spent nearly 20 years with the company apiece.

Creed and the new AEW World Champion Kenny Omega did their joint gaming interview for Giant Bomb, and during their discussion, they had some banter about Creed now having some free time.

Creed: “I mean, a few things are different now.”

Omega: “Yeah? What could happen during a measly six-month window that I would care about? Nothing monumental, that’s for sure!”

Creed: “Well, umm… So I’ve had some free time recently.”

Omega: “So you finally grew a spine and asked for that vacation you’ve been talking about for years? Well, dagnabbit, Creed, congrats!”

Creed: “Yeah, about that… you could say I pushed for a pretty permanent vacation…”

Omega: “WAIT! Permanently?! YOU MEAN YOU…”

Creed: “Yup!”

Creed added that it’s been great having a break for the first time in 22 years.

“Taking a full ass break for the first time in 22 years. It’s been great getting to relax. It’s summer, kids are out of school, have been going on hella vacations, and are enjoying just existing and sleeping well.”

Following that, Omega said he wanted to ask Creed what the people wanted to know, and Creed jokingly shut him down and said he is not talking about it.
