Averno Wins CMLL World Historic Light Heavyweight Championship, Ends 1000+ Day Reign Of Atlantis Jr
Averno captured the CMLL World Historic Light Heavyweight Championship at NJPW x CMLL Fantasticamania on February 26.
He ended the 1118 day reign of Atlantis Jr, who made five successful title defenses during his run.

Countering La Atlántida into a near fall, Averno stayed one step ahead. A Devil’s Wings followed for a close two count. Atlantis Jr. answered with a powerslam, but a missed dive proved costly. Averno capitalised with a two more Devil’s Wings and immediately transitioned into a submission, forcing the tap out to become the new champion.
This is the first reign as CMLL World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion for Averno. He is just the ninth title holder in history.
