Awesome Kong Says She Will Try Juggling GLOW And AEW

Awesome Kong talks AEW and GLOW.

In 2016, Awesome Kong stepped away from the wrestling ring due to health issues. Outside of a few appearances in 2017, Kong stayed out of the spotlight in the world of professional wrestling. She returned to the ring at AEW Double or Nothing, making a surprise appearance as the muscle for Brandi Rhodes.

During her time away from wrestling, Kong landed a role on the Netflix series "GLOW" where she plays Tammé "The Welfare Queen" Dawson.

Speaking to the Asbury Park Press, Kong discussed balancing AEW and "GLOW."

"I think it's possible, I think it's very possible," she said. "We're certainly going to try. AEW is very flexible, and they want to give the wrestling community what they want."

At AEW Fight For The Fallen, Kong went face-to-face with Aja Kong, teasing a bout between the two.

When discussing her return at Double or Nothing, Kong said, "It was strange to slip back into her skin and psyche because Kong is a totally different psyche from Kia. And I seriously was in my room the night before, praying on it that she would appear and that I would remember everything about her psyche to get to that place. "The reception was so breathtaking that my knees almost buckled. I almost didn't make it to that ring because my legs turned to jelly. I love wrestling fans for that."

The third season of "GLOW" is set to premiere on Aug. 9.
