Baron Corbin Discusses Audience Investment In Current Story, Believes In 'Evolve Or Die'

Corbin got off to a rough start in Vegas, losing to Big E, but his luck did turn around at the tables as he struck it rich.

Speaking to 104.5 The Zone, Corbin discussed his current storyline and fans getting behind it.

"The experience right now is different. What I'm doing right now is so different from everything I've done. I'm a believer in 'evolve or die.' I don't want to spend ten years doing the same thing. I'm getting to evolve from the Lone Wolf to the Constable to the King to what I'm doing now. To me, it's this fun evolution. It's a fun ride. You see a lot of guys don't want to change or want to do the same thing. The fans, it's hard to keep them invested. We live in such a fast-paced world now where two weeks is such a long time. We used to tell stories over six months or a year and now the audience can be a little impatient and they want to get where we're going quick. This story we're telling right now, they've really enjoyed the ride, which is different. Normally, after two or three weeks, they're like, 'Alright, where are we going?' Now they're like, 'I can't wait to see what happens next.' This is a fun story that people are invested in," he said.

Corbin said he's bringing his new riches and luck to SmackDown on Friday.

Fightful will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
