Baron Corbin On Generating Heat: 'There's Some Days Where I Think They Really, Really Hate Me'

Baron Corbin has had a turbulent 2019 that has seen him go from an authority figure on Monday Night Raw, to retiring Kurt Angle at WrestleMania, to becoming King of the Ring. In that time, King Corbin has generated quite a lot of heat for himself inside the ring.

Speaking to Fox 5 in New York, Corbin discussed the escapism involved with WWE and its entertaining aspects but admitted that there are days where he thinks he really is hated by the WWE Universe, especially depending on where they are geographically on any given night.

"I mean, we're here to entertain people around the world. We're going to entertain people tonight here in Brooklyn. It's one of those things. We just want people to come out and whatever it is they're dealing with, you know, they can escape with WWE. It's an escape for them. So we're out there to entertain millions and millions of people around the world," he began. "There's some days where I think they really, really hate me. And especially you get in certain parts of the world and they are very, very into it. You know, you can get down, get down south and you can have an eighty-five-year-old woman who is ready to jump the guardrail and beat you up like it's sucked in."

Corbin also reveals that he is a father to a little girl that is only eight months old. When asked if he could see a WWE career in her future, he admitted that given the physicality the industry takes he wouldn't want this career for her but she may have the attitude to be successful.

"I have a little girl as well. She's eight months. She's out of control. But I live in Tampa now. My wife and I live there. And she's Spanish so my child is half Spanish and half me," he said jokingly calling the eight-month-old a bruiser. "With what I put my body through, I'm like, oh, my little baby, she can't do that. But with the attitude she's got, she might be perfect for it."

Baron Corbin will continue his feud with Roman Reigns on the December 20th SmackDown live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Fightful will have live coverage and Mr. Warren Hayes will have the post-show podcast on his YouTube.
