In 2016, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, & Xavier Woods) broke Demolition's record for longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, holding the titles past Demolition's 478-day record.
New Day would keep the titles for 483 days before losing them to The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus).
Though The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) would eventually overtake New Day, Demolition recognized New Day's mark at the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
"When the Hall of Fame was done, I came up and I tapped Kofi Kingston on the shoulder and said, 'Are you Kofi?' 'Yeah, Demolition!' I said, 'Congratulations for beating our record, you son of a gun.' We laughed and everything. Really good guy, him and his partner. He said, 'I'm sorry we broke it.' I said, 'Don't be sorry, be excited. I'm excited for you. Somebody had to break it.' It's great that a couple of good guys took it from us." Barry Darsow (Smash of Demolition) told Ben Veal on Wrestling Life.
Elsewhere during the interview, Demolition commented on their WWE Legends deal, revealing the deal is for six years. You can find their full comments by clicking here.
