Bayley has achieved another major milestone in her career as 2019 comes to a close.
At 217 days as the SmackDown Women's Champion, Bayle ythe record for the most combined days as champion. It was acknowledged on SmackDown on December 27 that Bayley and Becky Lynch were tied for the most days having held the title and once the clock struck midnight, Bayley became the new record holder.
Having first won the title back in May, Bayley held onto the title all the way until Hell in a Cell in October when she lost to Charlotte. On SmackDown the following week, Bayley defeated Charlotte to win back the title and become the fifth woman to have won that specific championship more than once.
After already achieving plenty of success behind her attitude change in recent months, Bayley is also closing out 2019 by making some history.
The formerly Huggable One is now the longest combined reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, amassing 217 days as of Dec. 27 between her two runs at the top of the blue brand to surpass Becky Lynch’s previous mark of 216 days. Bayley knocked off Charlotte Flair on the Oct. 11 edition of SmackDown to win the title for a second time.
Bayley was also victorious this past Friday night, teaming with Sasha Banks to defeat Lacey Evans & Dana Brooke.
It has been a banner year for Bayley who, along with Sasha Banks, became the first duo to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship in February. Bayley then went on to win the Money In The Bank match in May and then successfully cashed her title opportunity in to become the SmackDown Women's Championship.
