Bayley On Joining Mercedes Mone In Japan: That Style Is Intense, I'm A Little Too Old For That

Mercedes Mone followed her dreams at the beginning of 2023, joining New Japan Pro-Wrestling and making an appearance at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Mone left WWE in May 2022, walking out alongside Trinity (Naomi in WWE) despite the two being WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. Mone found immediate success in Japan, winning the IWGP Women's Championship from KAIRI and completing at NJPW, NJPW STRONG events, and STARDOM events.

Mone's best friend Bayley has been there to support her every step of the way, even traveling to Japan for her debut at Wrestle Kingdom.

Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Bayley was asked if she could one day follow Mone and compete in Japan.

“I think what she’s doing is incredible, but I don’t know if I’d be able to do it. That Japanese style is intense. I’m a little too old for that. She can go ahead and do all that. She’s braver than I am. She’s way more athletic than I am. So she can do all that stuff, and I’ll support her the whole time. If something were to happen and I was able to go experience different things like that, we’ll see. But right now, my body will say no," she said.

Bayley did put her body through a ladder match at WWE Money in the Bank as she competed in the women's Money in the Bank bout. IYO SKY, Bayley's running mate in Damage CTRL was victorious in the bout.

While making the media rounds, Bayley stated she "begs" Mercedes to come back to WWE and would like to face her again. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
