Bayley Reacts To Dublin, Ireland Giving Lyra Valkyria ‘Hey Baby’ Chants

Bayley is goin’ through it right now.
A decade after changing the game for women’s wrestling with her match against Sasha Banks at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley finds herself at a crossroads in her career. About a year and a half after capturing the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania XL, Bayley said that she feels lost lately. After failing to help Lyra Valkyria defeat Becky Lynch for the WWE women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2025, Valkyria told Bayley she wanted to get away from her vortex and for them to be far apart from now on.
During the WWE SmackDown event in Dublin, Ireland, the crowd’s response to Valkyrie during an untelevised segment left the women’s wrestling legend feeling disheartened. The crowd was chanting “Hey, Lyra, I want to know if you’ll be my girl,” to the tune of “Hey Baby” by DJ Ötzi. This chant had been reserved for Bayley over the last decade. While Lyra definitely had home country support on August 22, it still caused Bayley to post on X in frustration.
