Bayley Says It Felt Good To Cut Her Ponytail, But Was In Shock

For years, Bayley's ponytail was part of her personality and character. When the current SmackDown Women's Champion turned heel in September, she slashed the Bayley buddies and her trademark ponytail.

Speaking to The Detroit News, Bayley discussed snipping her ponytail and officially undergoing a makeover.

"It felt great," she said. "I knew what I wanted to do and I knew what I needed to do. But the actual snip of the ponytail, I was a little in shock. My hair was the longest I've ever had it, and I've had that freakin' ponytail for seven years. The last time my hair was this short, I was 10 years old."

One person who isn't a fan of Bayley's new haircut is Elias, who sang that her new do "makes her look like a dude."

Bayley has previously stated she needed to turn heel in order to get on a different road. She re-iterated those thoughts to The Detroit News.

"Character-wise and personally, mostly personally, it was much needed," she said. "I really go off my emotions or what I'm passionate about at the time, and there came a point where I was like, 'I don't even know what I'm fighting for anymore.' That's when it hit me, and I was like, something needs to change. And that was it."

Bayley, alongside Sasha Banks, is currently involved in a feud with Lacey Evans. She has defeated Dana Brooke on back-to-back episodes of SmackDown.
