Becky Lynch Retains WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title At WWE Evolution

Becky Lynch retained her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title at WWE Evolution, defeating Lyra Valkyria and Bayley in a triple threat match.
The finish saw Bayley hit Lyra with the Roseplant, but as he covered Lyra with a jacknife pin, Lynch rolled over Bayley’s back, catching her with a backslide pin for the three count.
The bout featured multiple near falls with all three women hitting their respective finshers, only for the pinfall attempt to be broken up.
After the match, Becky yelled that she is “the best to ever do it.”

The triple threat match served as the opening contest for WWE Evolution, WWE’s all-women’s event.
This marked the second successful title defense for Becky Lynch. She won the title from Lyra at WWE Money in the Bank.
The triple threat bout came together after the number one contenders bout between Bayley and Lyra ended in a double pin on the June 30th episode of WWE Raw. With no distinct winner, WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce announced on July 6th that Lynch would defend the title in a triple threat match.
