Becky Lynch Reveals She Was “Apprehensive” About Seth Rollins Storyline

Although Becky Lynch got the opportunity to work alongside boyfriend Seth Rollins in recent months, she wasn’t exactly too thrilled with the idea at first.

During an interview with talkSPORT, Lynch spoke on she felt upon knowing that she would work with Rollins in a program against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. Lynch explained that she was apprehensive about the matter because she didn’t want the world to be constantly reminded about the particulars of their relationship.

“Honestly, I was very apprehensive. What I didn’t want was everybody talking about the relationship. What I wanted was two bad asses, two people at the top of their game fighting side-by-side. Not for the world to be reminded every five minutes that this is Becky Lynch’s boyfriend or that’s Seth Rollins’ girlfriend. Which, of course, they didn’t do. They were the masters of subtlety. So, for that reason, I was apprehensive,” Lynch said.

The storyline eventually saw both Rollins and Lynch put their Universal and RAW Women’s titles, respectively, up for grabs in a mixed tag match against Corbin and Lacey at the Extreme Rules show on July 14. Rollins and Lynch eventually won the match, but moments later, Brock Lesnar cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and pinned Rollins to win the Universal title.

Though despite her feelings on the storyline at first, Lynch didn’t express regret in actually working with Rollins.

“But when I thought about it, I was like OK. One, we’re going to make this a badass fight, it’s going to be a great fight. No matter what, you know when you put me and Seth Rollins in a fight you’re going to get pure passion and we’re going to pull out all the stops. But in terms of having my relationship be the freaking be the front and center, that’s not what I’m about. That’s not what I’ve worked towards. That’s not what I wanted,” Lynch said. “I wanted to work with Seth because he’s the best in the business – you know, besides me – but working with him was awesome. He really is the absolute best.”
