After being off television since May 2020 following her pregnancy announcement, Becky Lynch returned at WWE SummerSlam.
Lynch's appearance was a surprise as she stepped up to Bianca Belair, who was originally scheduled to face Sasha Banks.
Speaking to BT Sport, Lynch revealed when she found out about her SummerSlam return.
"I actually really only knew what I was doing, probably, that I was going to have that match probably a day or two before. I got a call on Monday, SummerSlam was on Saturday, that there was a possibility that I was needed to fill in for a match, but I didn't know entirely until Friday," she said.
Speaking about the match with Belair, Lynch said, "She was preparing for a different match. She had her sights set on Sasha. She also, she trusted me. That was her first mistake. She's new to the game, she hasn't been watching her entire life. DTA [Don't Trust Anybody]. It's not personal, it's business. I want to be the champ. If you're not in there to be the champ, then get out. She should have been a bit more suspicious."
Lynch did praise Belair, calling her the most athletic woman in the WWE and saying she will shine one day, just not while Becky is around.
Banks and Lynch are set to rematch at WWE Extreme Rules with the SmackDown Women's Championship on the line. You can view the current lineup for the show by clicking here.
